Sound of the Rambunctious

I have been saying “I’m ready” for a few months. Ready to have new furry members for my family. And at last, they’re here! They’re 12-week old twins (actually two out of four littermates)! We brought them home last week from the local shelter. They were named differently at the shelter, but we had our granddaughter, London, names them. We were surprised when she came up with “Benji” and “Zoey” and not names from her favorite Disney movies.

So here they are, Benji and Zoey have been adjusting to their new home very well. We’re rather impressed how well they were taken care of up to this point at the shelter and how easily they’ve settled in. After being in the bathroom for a day, we started to gradually expand their world each day. It’s not even a week yet, and they’re already running around the whole house.

I’m flabbergasted how familiar it feels to prepare the food for them and clean the litterbox!

It’s almost like I never had the gap after Nicola passed. Yesterday morning, I woke up to the sound of purrs as they decided to explore the bed at dawn. Even the sound of the kitties walking on bed brought that familiar joy as I laid in bed half awake. Anyone who’s had cats in the house would know the sound well, especially when they decide to dash around the house.

Being rambunctious and sleeping are their primary job, which give me so much joy to watch.

It is a new chapter in our life. I’m like a mom with a newborn baby taking pictures and videos of these two kitties though I’m not posting them on social media. 😆 I am really hoping at least one of them would become my meditation partner.
