My Wish Granted

As I sit on my sofa pondering on what to write about this week, one of the new kitties, Benji, snuggled up to my side. He’s watching the screen following the curser as I type. I can tell he’s getting intrigued by the moving objects on the screen. He’s probably pounce on it any moment, but for now he’s half-way on my lap and purring very loud.

It’s been 6 weeks since they arrived at our home. They’ve grown to be twice as long as they were. And I have to say the infatuation is mutual. They are in the same room as I am for the most part; they climb on my lap, sniff my face, and give me this adorable stare… I’m in love with them! Besides the girl kitty, Zoey, hopped on my lap while I was meditating just like my late Nicola used to do everyday! Ha! My wish was granted.

It’s been 6 weeks since they arrived at our home. They’ve grown to be twice as long as they were. And I have to say the infatuation is mutual. But tomorrow I’m leaving town on a 2-week trip, first to Chicago to meet up with my husband who left a few days earlier to visit with his family, then to Saco, Maine to attend the conference with my regenerative real estate group, LATITUDE though it would be nothing like a “business conference” as we will be at the Ecology School where it is designed based on the regenerative principles on 104 acres of farm. This is our first “conference” we are hosting where we will be mingling with other professionals in the field of real estate who are called to transform the way we inhabit the planet. I know it’s still rather nebulous, but that’s the goal of our gathering: to articulate our thoughts and ideas into a tangible actions in the business of real estate.

While this gathering is exciting, I’m honestly a bit nervous about leaving the kitties behind for the period. We have a kind neighbor, who’s very much happy to take care of them for us. Based on the personalities so far, I think they’ll warm up to her easily. But you know… I guess it’s more of my selfish concern that they may forget about me after having bonded! Well, I just have to trust they would do fine without me and remember me when I return.

It feels silly to keep writing about them, but it’s like this today. The immense joy they bring is invaluable. I’m in love with my new kitties, and so grateful.
