Keep Unfolding

It’s 3 weeks into the new year. (When will I stop counting?) Honestly, I’m having a phenomenal beginning of the year. For the last few years I ardently worked to build my niche in my business, and it’s finally starting to bear fruits. Just in the first two weeks, I have received some invitations for new opportunities to take my business to the next level.

This is actually quite frightening. It means that I have to keep showing up, that I have to act like a grown up! It takes a lot of gumption… like I really need to gently push myself. What’s amazing is it just “keeps unfolding” in a way that I couldn’t have imagined or I couldn’t have designed myself. All I’m doing is basically following the bread crumbs on the long and winding path… taking the next indicated steps.

I happened to listen to a Dharma talk by Tara Brach the other day titled, “Compass of Our Heart.” I heard her talk about how some people’s spiritual practice “keeps unfolding.” I believe if we can access our own deep aspiration and set an intention to follow our heart, we inevitably are guided by some unseen force. This is what it feels like to me. I can only hold everything lightly — in open palms so that I’m not attached to the outcomes.

The last two years, life unfolded quite unexpectedly indeed, starting with an notice from our landlord that she was moving in and we were moving out, then the shut down shortly after putting us living in the mountains full time. As I keep talking about how “uncertain” life seems to be, I hope I don’t sound whiny because I am definitely not discontent about the uncertainty. I’m really curious to see how life will unfold in 2022 for me and for all of us. Even though I’m experiencing a nice flow today, I’m sure there will be ebbs. Yet each ebb and flow would reveal what’s next, and so it will keep unfolding. And isn’t that a blessing?
