Energized, Relaxed and Balanced
It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks. I came down from the mountains to stay in the city while I work on a new project, a new listing I put on the market in West Los Angeles. I hadn’t had much time to slow down and relax since I got here until now. I just realized it is the beginning of March, and it is time to pay the bills and work on taxes.
When life gets busy with work projects, I feel lopsided unless I’m mindful about taking a good self-care regimen. Before I ended up living in the mountains, I managed to make it to the gym for workouts a few times a week. Now the extent of my workouts have been minimum 10-min of yoga everyday and walk/hike in the woods. Recently, however, I was diagnosed (again) with osteoporosis. Since I had been diagnosed with both osteopenia and osteoporosis almost 10 years ago, I knew I should be taking calcium and doing some weight bearing exercises, but somehow I kept neglecting. So I finally got myself a trainer to work with so I can start to build some strong bones and started my daily supplements.
Honestly, I find it quite challenging to stay in good shape both physically, mentally and emotionally all at the same time when we have so much going on in our lives and the world at large. Getting to work on projects that keep me motivated and energized helps, yet when things pile up, workout tends to be the first thing that gets dropped in priority while my time to meditate may also get shortened.
It’s indeed my desire to be energized, relaxed and balanced — while I’m so aware life isn’t always like that, which I can accept, and I guess it is a good goal to have on a daily basis. So just for today, I do feel energized, and thank God, I do feel relatively relaxed. And I’m grateful. All I can do is to one day at a time to strive for balance!
